In 2002 Vinibrasil project is born, located in Vale do São Francisco. With the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tanat and Malbec, the challenge is in the winemaking.

A protocol was established with the Agronomy Institute of Lisbon to accompany the investigation and set the standards to worldwide recognition. The project is all new: the region (northwest Brazil), the climate (semi-desert), latitude (Parallel 8). As Janis Robinson mentioned this wine is not of the New World but of a "New Latitude".


The wines produced there are known as Rio Sol, Paralelo 8 and Vinha Maria.
